NOTE: this is a standard schoolchild question since AT LEAST the 1950s when my mother was in school:

Prices will simplify. Instead of $2.02 it’ll be by nickles. $2.05
So everything will cost more. Nobody rounds down.
So outside of everything costing more everywhere you go for everything everywhere — and no more creative marketing like Walmart’s “.88” on everything (now it’ll be “.90”), affecting poorer people disproportionately as always everything does, the benefits will not trickle down.
That’s about it. It was inevitable. We won’t see the benefit just those who control the big money as always.

NOTE: this is a standard schoolchild question since AT LEAST the 1950s when my mother was in school:
“Should we get rid of the penny and start using nickels?”
So 4 generations have been ready for this and everybody knows what’ll happen, or should if they remember the lesson.
