Nobody ever says: “trust the government, and that our politicians would never betray the people they’ve been elected to represent, You’ve created a fictional obedient government lackey that simply does not exist – and projected it upon millions.

In truth of fact, unless they are caught up in a cult of some kind, normal adults are rational beings who are not obsessive about obeying anything.

You’ve painted two separate pictures:

First; a picture of absolute obedience
Then: a picture of freedom
If both lead to destruction for what you refer to as “our great” – maybe it’s not and never was.

You’re in a constructed fantasy.
Human progress by whatever partitioning delineation you like – geographical, national, family ties, religious, ideological – take your pick or choose another – has an entirely traceable and trackable history, particularly in the realm of technological advances but also in ideological as well: that is because we passed down the knowledge and still have it.
Open an American children’s textbook: “All progress that matters is American”
Open a British textbook “All progress that matters is British”. Open a Russian textbook “All progress that matters is Russian”.
Chinese culture arose while Greece and Athens were scratching rock.
Are you the pinnacle of these thousands of years?
Is this great thing you want to preserve a bunch of complainers?
If it’s so honorable, be honorable.

You’re an excellent writer. Good use of pathos in rhetoric – I think it’s called pathos. A bit too much sadboi though. Very victim sounding. Like it’s your struggle.

Ever do your genealogy? I’m very big on mine. Followed a relative who was into it in the 90s and left pieces of himself everywhere in old GEDCOM computer files that I discovered in the early 00s. and i picked up the hobby then.
Never met him or talked to him just found his files.
Now I’ve got genealogy charts of myself going back thousands of years, connecting to others etc. Mostly on geni and familysearch. You give me a past relative I’ll show you how we’re related.
I don’t understand your despair. If you believed in heritage, the past always lives.
