Let’s look at a train wreck: Imagine there’s 5 fatalities in a 300 passenger train wreck. But the train tumbled over end over end down an embankment and all 295 other people were moderately to seriously injured. However, they were not fatalities. You can say: “they survived, didn’t they?”. But would they have been better had they not been on the train and tumbled down an embankment? They wouldn’t be fatalities or survivors. They would simply be normal. The people who got Covid and survived are not necessarily normal anymore.
