NATO protects international commerce. There are nations who wouldn’t deal favorably directly with the USA but will with, say, Denmark if they like Denmark.
When dealing with far off pirates, you need friends in far off places and be honest, the USA is terrible at making friends.
I don’t care. You want to kill it, kill it. I see reasons to keep it intact. You don’t. Ok.
Treaties do amazing things for national defense. But do what you wish.
I can’t explain the value of treaties in a sentence so if you don’t already ‘see it’, I can’t teach you.
Handpick events all you like. I’m not going to do a cherry picking contest. Enjoy
I’m not debating. I’m asserting my stance. I did that.
I had a friend as a kid who loved the board game Risk. Speculative war gaming I think. I tried it. Wasn’t my thing. Still isn’t.
US foreign policy sucks. Always did. Withdrawing from NATO would just continue our downward spiral in international relations. But whatever. I’ll dig a hole in the backyard and stay there ’til it passes.
I also don’t give strong opinions about Israel / Palestine. I focus on US screwups as that’s my country and I know we can always do better.
It’s why I’ll never understand folks constantly harkening back to cannonball ship battles between nations.
http://www.digitalattackmap.com/ One of my favorite sites. DDoS is SO basic and simple yet it constitutes a lot of what everybody worldwide deals with daily, from Trunks down to a smartfridge or whatever.
And… I get to relive wargames for real with only twitter fallout radiation.
