My mind filled with idealism. I decided to remember what it felt like and so, I did.

You’re right: I was a minority of the majority but that’s why voting can make a difference. Even if the majority at one time sways one way, at some point the majority sways towards the minority and then the previous majority is going “wait, what happened?”

Consider modern conservatism: Somewhere it became a minority opinion with a majority of progressive.

So, should the majority automatically have all of the rights or should everybody get a say?

It’s not that the votes of 16/17 yr olds would necessarily have a huge effect, but it _could_ should they choose to exert it. Right now, there’s no choice in the matter. You hit 18, and like   pointed out, you stop caring about it. You cross the threshhold and now it’s “their problem”.

I told myself I’d never forget. I was like 14 or so, read Unschooling and other alt.education books. My mind filled with idealism. I decided to remember what it felt like and so, I did.
