My inner skeptic has to be on full guard against my inner “completionist” that wants things ‘settled’. I just started reading it and it’s “pinging” me with all the right notes. It’s easy to get lulled into a religiosity and I know this writing will be difficult for me to stay critical with.
After reading this lovely quote within the paper, I had to know more about the author so that I had a framework from which to gauge its possible direction flow, as it’s easy to get swept up in the currents of agreeable prose.
Looking at his a recent publication, “Letter to Alan Turing”, Jan 2018, it is a letter of love from an adoring fan, about everything Turing didn’t get to see, good and not so good..
“Theoretical Principles for Biology” is his field and it draws in from theoretical physics, mathematics and I could find myself easily drawn in.
So, I have to be careful as I read. This is posthumanities and it’s alluring.
