Oh, I like this.
I learned about this via a group who sent a freedom of information request for NY State marriage records, only to find that a year after their request, Ancestry copied THEIR request (word for word) and got it all, while this group kept being put through hurdles.

They had to sue and won, including return of all costs that ancestry didn’t have to pay for the same information.
