Most teachers are Republican. They don’t change what they teach year after year – very conservative behavior. Most schools stay the same as they were 10, 20, 40 years ago.
Very few teachers reach tenure and they have to play along until tenure so they don’t just find their contract not renewed.
The reason economics isn’t taught is because schools don’t know how to. They never taught it before and they’re not going to change anything. They don’t change. They add computers? wow. That’s it.
Why does the USA do as poorly against other countries in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, 20s in EVERY SUBJECT?
Because schools are conservative and do not change.

School boards are political though. They change people. They pretend to make changes to the system. But they don’t – not in useful ways.
They add police. The police do lockdown drills for mass shooting. They have police arrest bad kids so they don’t have to deal with them.

The leftists you seek are found in universities.
a) among some members of the student body.
b) Many professors.
But you won’t find them in college administrations. College administration are almost always very conservative. Professors and students battle with administration at most colleges.

Dress codes.
No spaghetti straps on girls. Knees have to be covered.
Boys can’t wear hair below a certain part of their neck.
