Most of those are taught to us by schoolteachers in our simplified elementary textbooks. The thinking is that you start with wrong simple models and give the more correct ones later. But what you learn as kids often “sticks” harder than what you learn later that’s supposed to replace it, yet textbooks, teachers, aunts, uncles, moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas, older brothers, sisters, neighbors, Youtube and TV and books continue these things regardless of your feelings about it.
