Most of my interest in copies isn’t so much in the near perfect but rather in the abstracted copies And the name and definition have their own life distinct from what they represent A photograph or drawing have a distinct life from what they represent Any correspondence at all is actually quite a shock yet we treat correspondence of a copy as expected to be perfect and complain when it’s not. In short, they are associated – they need not have ANYTHING else to do with one another
