I don’t even know what a “theist” is that there’s a need for an “a” about, honestly.
Whenever I hear someone who self-refers as “atheist”, the imagry of this creature called “theist” appears to be a standard Fundamentalist Christian, hardly the representative of all Christiandom and especially not of the world’s religions.
Then again, modern atheism is but a splinter off the branch of Protestantism and a particular branch of Protestant… which it continues actively debating the same 19th century issues that the rest of the world doesn’t even think about.
I’m continually amazed at how much people accept without question and do not study the history of their own belief (or abelief if you like) systems.
