Mathematical Morphology might not map as its primitive functions are erosion and dialation. Erosion is lossy as is dialation. You can get reconstruction but it will happen in a different way than you started with. That’s its power in cleaning up and sharpening images but at the cost of information loss. There’s significant information GAIN but you’ll lose what you remove.
