Maps are a part of reality, and our reality is informed by the maps we create

I will argue thusly:
Maps are a part of reality, and our reality is informed by the maps we create. In short, a triangle. We begin mapping the territory the moment we open our senses. Is our map correct? Do we have any other way to ascertain reality other than maps?
What are your thoughts?
