Lots of Floridians died, just so he could score voting points.
He gives the people what they want: Bread and circus. A show. Games. While changing laws that will negatively affect citizens but inflate the pockets of himself and his wealthy buddies.
I’m glad you enjoy his clown show: he’ll likely end up President.
But the laws he and his administration have been passing have been monstrously totalitarian, blasting through county, city and community lines in a way I’ve never seen a Governor do before.
Not good.

He’s not “for” individual rights. He’s for unrestricted freedom for corporations *he likes* to do whatever they want. Florida bought and sold to the highest bidder that meets his approval. Who owns the people today? Depends who is the wealthiest and most well connected to his administration at that moment.

Trojan horses.
I think what’s annoying to me is how GOOD that are at tricking the masses.
Do you know HOW Florida State government got SO POWERFUL as to wipe away whatever local counties, cities, municipalities do, the state able to step into anyplace unrestricted with no power for people to go against it?
This.
This nice sounding law. “Front yard gardens”. They’ve probably been crafting this law for a long time; professionals in billion dollar think tanks, coming up with the PERFECT Trojan Horse.
“How dare local communities of any kind have any say on front yard gardening! How can we as a State Government solve this for you?”
“We’ll make it impossible for local governments to make any law contrary to our wishes.”
And that was that. Most of Gov DeSantis’ power funnels right through this. One of his very first laws, already packaged and ready to go for any government to put into place. His did. And it works. Unlimited power. Kiss the ring.
Ok, I’ve done ranting. Now I can hear how much worse Biden is by contrast or Obama was or something. I’ve just kept this one under my hat because I know too many people that LOVE DeSantis and I have to very careful.
