Yes, I agree with that. I believe it can *help* to be able to observe ones own thoughts and feelings as they come and go and reason one’s way through it. I do that all of the time; I appear emotional when I write, but every word is consciously written… if not always properly spelled out [of] sloppiness
What I would love to see, in terms of an early treatment, would be teaching basic rational and emotional control. Awareness of one’s own thoughts and sensations and feelings. Learn to slow down one’s own internal time to be able to manage some of the things happening inside before they get out of control.
It might not solve, but it could assist a host of problems, not just this specific one.
