“keep what matters to you”. I think that’s a better phrase than “backup your data”. This file from around 1990 “barq1.sng” *is* _somewhere_ on a 3.5″ floppy, resided on several now long dead hard drives, and I know it’s an an external HD but that’s not where I got it from. I uploaded it to PC-Link (precursor to AOL) and to some FTP sites (file sharing sites) back in 1993 so I could get to it in the future someday. Now it’s 2017. It’s someday. I found the file online. Still. 24 years later. 24 years. I FINALLY have a way to play it and it was waiting because I kept it in a few safe places online. It’s not “backup your data”. It’s “Keep what matters to you”. Tandy Deskmate Music composition by Kenneth Udut, 18 yrs old, somewhere in the last few months of my senior year of high school. Done in a what I thought of as a baroque style but it’s all mine :)
