Just notice me: Why anything communicates.

Agreed 10,00,0000,000,000000%. [I put commas where I want]

About two years ago, I had one of those “woah” revelations. I thought, “Why do we communicate?” then I thought of animals. “Why do dogs bark?” “Why do bacteria signal?”

and it clicked in with 3 words:

“Just notice me”.

Being noticed, or even the *hope* of being noticed (one way communication is hoped to become a two way in some form) is such a driving force.
