Always being shown to be a little “different” I don’t expect mutual understanding which is why I strive to communicate. Failure is my default but I strive for success just the same.
It’s primarily about rate and ability to communicate and be understood within a common framework.
Two similar professionals in a similar field will have similar ups and downs in communication on average compare to all other similar professional in that similar field as will two similar communicators of similar capabilities within a similar language.
When you’ve reached certain communications plateaus (fluencies) your ability to produce and absorb effectively and efficiency will be similar as other in their own domains.
This is what I think is true.
I’m comparing similars with similars.
I think it’s results will be similar to that of general averaged language corpi as used in that study I got the 3.5 bits from.
I may have failed to convince. But i am mostly clarifying my intended position.
If people were computers networked together I would be comparing two $1000 laptops from 2020 vs each other and two calculators from 1976 vs each other and not the 1976 calculator vs the 2020 laptop.
