I’ve never been pregnant. I never grew up black. I never grew up wealthy and I never grew up in a warzone. I can pretend to understand everybody as if they’re just like me or I’m just like them but really, that’s not true. (It’s true in many ways but to gloss over differences that make me uncomfortable doesn’t serve anybody but soothing myself) Will I convince anybody else to see things how I do? Nah. All I can do is present my perspective.
