I’ve been watching since I was 6.5 as a boy in New Jersey with my grandmother in the late 1970s. I don’t have strong memories of the show until I was about 8. The 1983 simulcast to 1/3 of the planet of The Five Doctors was an excitement I can’t explain. Felt my interest dwindle with Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy, but I stayed with it. Didn’t expect it to be cancelled. Fill in with shows like Sliders, Timecop, Highlander, Quantum Leap, Star Trek TNG, Stargate – all who had Doctor Who elements, never expected Dr. Who to return. But it did in 2005 and I am glad. Only ever did the TV show but it’s carried through my life so far. One fictional character in all their incarnations.
