i’ve been in a fight for children’s rights since i was a teenager.
1990 at 18 founded Y-RIGHTS (rights of kids / teens) online. David Deutsche (quantum computing) was a member for a bit til i kicked him and his friend out for talking over everybody’s heads but i did it nicely – helped them form their own group which was harder pre www
he is a libertarian and was big on free range parenting which is fine but they were talking theory which was driving people out and i had strict rules about keeping keeping the level of discourse at around 8th grade level if possible to accommodate as many members as possible which everybody BUT him and the taking children seriously founder sarah fitz claridge could do.
anyway – this for me is a human rights issue, one that’s not just autism but self dignity.
i have a whole litany of issues i can bring up regarding schools. that’s why i stopped when i realized i was talking about an entirely different thing than you guys were.
so yeah it’s part of a larger thing i’m very passionate about. goes beyond me but i use myself as part of it.
