I’ve been fascinated on and off for a long time with finding usable text to speech. I am actually 1/2 deaf / 1/2 blind but thankfully beyond strong glasses I don’t need these things. However, I know there are many who do and I like knowing “what’s good” out there as a lot of what’s out there is not, particularly in the overpriced world of deaf and blind equipment. Very often hobby solutions work better. So, yesterday I decided to make my computer sound like a typewriter. Then I thought “why not make my mouse go clunk clunk like a button”, then why don’t I make my computer sing when I do things. So next is: Boy, I sure wish it would do something when I hovered over text while browsing. I looked and found this and it just so happened that your post is where it landed. This was last night’s progress. Added the speech function just a few minutes ago.
