I’ve been a fan since I was 8 but I was proud to never consider myself a “Whovian” as they were called then, always just treated it like a show that I happened to like. Never got the books or went to conventions. Weird badge of honor but whatever it’s what I did. (or didn’t do).
Can’t answer for the fandom, the shippers or anything. They do as they do. To me, it’s a nerdy time travel show and I like nerdy time travel shows. Lots of people don’t like it so you’re in good company. It’s a weird show.
Yeah, that one was top notch for Doctor Who. Maybe 17% of the show’s ever gotten to that level. A lot depends on the writers and the producers of the show at the time and of course the budget.
I like the blue box ,what can I say. I like it bad or good. It’s the reason why I try not to get into TV shows in general. When I do, I have to see all of them. [last time it happened was with Stargate… it was awful because I *had* to see all of them.. and then they kept making spinoffs…. it’s a curse].
I had an online brony friend back in 2011/12-ish who knew I liked Dr Who and for my birthday made me into “Dr. Whooves”. It was a nice gesture. He taught me how to /) or /] in chat and gave me a pony name or stallion name I think. I forgot what it was though.
Yeah, can’t say I fully understand crossover fandoms. “If you like Dr Who you’ll LOVE Sherlock” kind of thing. I’m picky.
I didn’t know brony fandom was still a thing. I still occasionally see furries and otherkin now and again though. They’ve been around since at least the dawn of the internet though so I expect they’ll stay.
