it’s “zeal” and there’s nothing wrong with zeal.

it’s “zeal” and there’s nothing wrong with zeal.  It means you have enthusiasm for it.  It’s important to you to defend.  The only thing I ever ask of people is that they recognize their zeal from a ‘meta’ point of view, which you do and that’s awesome.

It’s the people that don’t recognize their zeal that I will sometimes engage in length conversations with.

If a cause is important to someone, I’m all for it, so long as they realize they’re on a cause or a quest or that it’s meaningful to them.  It’s the people who say, “It’s the Truth and that’s that” that I try to combat because, well, then they sound religious.  And … not that there’s anything wrong with that per se… but when someone believes they’re beyond religion yet behaves like someone who is religious… it looks a little silly when they can’t see the absurdity of it at least a little.

I don’t think it’s a defect in you at all; it’s just something that matters to you and I think that’s great :)
