Depends on the country. Some countries tend to see the west as doing things right and want to emulate. What’s the country with a smile a lot? Begins with a B? been doing a workable democracy for a while and enjoy moderate western style capitalism.
If you see success that’s compatible, wouldn’t you emulate?
One flaw in old style multiculturalism is that every culture wants to stay exactly as we know them. It’s under the guise of celebrate differences, but it can hinder a culture’s actualization if they do look to us for guidance.
Of course there are those who don’t want things to change. And honestly I think the right solution is somewhere in between as always.
But you have to remember that Africa is a huge continent with great variety. I go so far to say that there is less variety between America and Europe than there is between the different African nations.
