It’s the alliance he’s chosen. Consider that Musk’s social circle is actually very tiny; Kanye is part of his circle of friends as is Trump. They each have their public spats but they’re really part of a very small club; none of them are really all THAT political by nature but it’s a vehicle for making money and they’ve all identified the far right as the zone that will get them the most money so they’re making use of it while it lasts.
They’re all funny and quirky in their own ways, each awkward and two left feet in a lot of things which gives them each a certain charm ,and repeatedly people will trip over themselves to excuse their behavior, as each has their followings that consider them a misunderstood genius;
Donald Trump – the misunderstood genius
Elon Musk – the misunderstood genius
Kanye West – Ye – the misunderstood genius
But I don’t think any of them are NATURALLY far-right politically; I think they’re all just right of center; but there’s no money to be made in the center.

I made excuses for Kanye West for years but his last thing; the anti-Semitic ranting really was that “oh you didn’t just go there did you?” moment. But even that, people will forgive; I’ll probably let it go after does something to recoup his image and he will. That’s how it goes.

anyway I’m probably wrong about all that. I poke at Musk because, well, he’s like in the top 5 richest people on the planet and an “out there” daily public figure and he’s my age and I always judge people my age harder than anybody else
