it’s on my list of things I’ve always wondered about because I was born at 6 months and I know it’s because they had just opened a Neonatal clinic with all the latest equipment 50 days before I was born two towns away from my childhood home.
It was right in the middle of the trend of “formula is superior to breast milk” era. Likely an over successful marketing campaign but nestlé.
But the nurses in the neonatal Clinic knew the breast milk was necessary for premies so they had it shipped in from NYC.
This is also at the tail end of the era that they were prescribing that weird drug that would leave some babies without their arms and legs as a miscarriage preventer. So I dodged a bullet there too.
So that’s as close to my birth conditions that I’ve researched and discovered.
If I were born 10 years earlier would I have survived? I don’t think so. And 20 years before certainly not.
But I might have to revise this. I’ll have to look into this guy. And I may have to revise the autobiography I keep in my mind about myself.
