It’s not a smart point at all.
a) Evolution takes place over millions of years.
b) This illness is here only SIX MONTHS and affects humans across maybe FOUR generations., from great-great-grandparents to babies.
c) Healthcare costs are borne by somebody in those generations.
d) Nobody is crying for 100% survival rate. Everybody dies. You know that right? Everybody knows that everybody dies.
e) Gotten soft? No. More people died. People dying around you doesn’t make you strong. Which survivor of family tragedy says “I’m so glad my family died around me and I’m left to pick up the pieces!”.
You’re full of shit Christopher.
If y’all hanker after some nostalgia over some mythological notion of the “19th century tough guy” read up on frontier suicide, the desperate and the broken. Cities of illnesses and death prior to common handwashing. People crushed by machinery in the new giant machines. Wives left without husbands who died to technology having to fend for themselves (and partially to credit for 19th century feminism).
“John Wayne was a fictional character made for children’s fantasies”. fyi. Did not exist.
