It’s kind of pushing the issue into untestable realms. In the past, one might say “God”, in our time we can push it into higher dimensions but it serves a similar function.
That said, I wouldn’t mind an extra dimensional reality being the real as it’s good food for imagination.
But I think it’s probably projecting our simulation limitations upwards.

Still, *if* (always look for the if) this is a simulation of a higher reality, it frees us somewhat of a burden of responsibility. A more frightening thought is “what if this is all there is?”. Where I go with that is connectedness: Whether this is real or simulated, part of a greater or “this is it”, what they all have in common is communication and connectedness, our ability to invisibly influence the world around us in a multitude of ways that aren’t always dramatic but can grow. A good idea said at the right time to the right person in the right way can amplify and fix things.
