It’s being stripped away by the current right-wing US govt.
You assume it’s included in every state’s budget. But it’s being taken out of ours in the USA and ours was never that much to start with.
There are realities Americans have to deal with that you probably don’t have to think about.
Pay rent OR go to the doctor?
I don’t have health insurance. I had a weird lump under my armpit 3 weeks ago. Cyst? Infection (Lymph node)? Or Lymphatic Cancer?
We run our own business and with 13 people living in one house, some contribute to bills, some don’t, money is always tight for myself as I usually give up what I make to pay towards house bills.
So, I had two weeks of a weird lump under my arm before I could go to the doctor to find out, “What is it?”
It’s sort of my choice. I _could_ abandon the business, tell my brother and sister-in-law “Sorry”, find a “normal job” and be trapped doing that 5 days a week. But I like having time. So, it’s a tradeoff.
Pay rent OR go to the doctor? I usually choose “pay rent” (mortgage).
