Its a last gasp of an old way, this Nov ’16 revolt.

Its a last gasp of an old way, this Nov ’16 revolt.

90,000 US adolescents?

Try school as reason.

America goes from Mommy Daddy Mommy Daddy cycles. We’re in a Daddy cycle, but this Daddy wants to see kids fighting and not pay child support.

That started pre Reagan but Reagan was a focus. Significant ttempts to dismantle “New Deal” went back to the late 40s and continued.

I suffered through Reagan too. I also know he focused something already there. “America Right or Wrong” – remember that?

====

Only of policy. The drama he loves the details and twisting them.

I’ve always had trouble with the “Good German” question myself, sadly.

—-

Most didn’t know they existed. But even those that did, they were “just following orders” and only knew their tiny part, not the whole thing.

That always made it tough for me to answer authoritatively.

====

To start with, sure. But when you see and are no longer stupid, at which point does that cease to be a rational reasoning?

====

When is ignorance and desperation no longer a logical answer?

====

So the machine they unwittingly helped build runs amok with no one at the helm?

====

But this isn’t Germany. Trump is not Hitler. If we lose checks and balances, elections (tainted as they can be), and the systems in place to push back, maybe it could be Germany. But we’re still not.

—-

Yes and that includes putting aside blaming ppl fighting for the same end.

====

I was referring to your behavior here Ginger, yes. It’s your right. This is a debate group.

====

I would say the same. I have been online since ’89. I don’t know anybody’s body parts and don’t think about it unless they bring it up.

—-

You might be surprised but thank you for assuming. What connects me to Robert in a “you two” fashion?

====

I see Ginger in the power position. Mod. Knows important figures of history often forgotten. I agree with Ginger on trying to understand why ppl voted in a more nuanced fashion than Robert.

If Robert were the mod, I would probably give slightly greater support to Ginger in the debate.

====

I chastise ppl on netiquette constantly, esp when i see two ppl who are fighting for the same thing but snagged on the details. I want to see ppl get to a point where they find a point of agreement – at least one – and have a kind word b4 continuing. Why? I don’t know. Imposing my values I suppose, acting out of my bias.

====

Final remark for now: Paid for a job test once in ’02. It nailed my perfect job like none other did. Hope this helps you understand me better.  I don’t like being misunderstood and apologize if I misunderstood you. It was not my intent. This very well sums up my personality.

Life sticks you in places sometimes. choices. The politics of school systems kept me from wanting to dive into the institution (although I came close a few times). Instead I try to help where I can, mostly online but also offline.

====

I agree with you on why most people voted for Trump. There’s also some in and out of that group who enjoy seeing those in their out-group fall and in a cruel way. But they were not the majority.

====

As time goes on – and I’ve seen it among family/friends who voted for him – most stop talking about him favorably, get less political, are starting to wake up a little.

But as long as theyre fed by their right-wing-only news sources, I don’t know how far progress will come. left or liberal only news doesn’t help either as this gives them easy good vs evil narratives.

But I also believe people can be rational. Most. Some can’t. I assumed that’s who robert was referring to but maybe I was wrong.

=====

Looks like Robert left. It’s just us. I kind of barged in and stole the conversation away.
