It was sickly sweet smoke, blueish colored that wafted over the campus. I smelled him before I knew it had happened.

I know we enter wars under false pretenses. In 1991, during the short time I was at Hampshire College, a man in town just a few miles away, set himself on fire with kerosene to protest our invasion in Iraq.
