I know exceptions too. Connections help. You did good. Your friend did good. Not everybody has connections. Not all opportunities are always available.
I was able to easily get a job with only a high school diploma at a pharmaceutical company in New Jersey back in 1999. I didn’t even want it but i got it. Paid good.
Couldn’t do that now. Should’ve have been able to do it then. I was at the right place at the right time and knew what I was doing and didn’t care if I got it or not. Trifecta. Bit of skill mostly circumstance.
But that’s not everybody. Shaming people pats yourself on the back and gets likes from people but doesn’t built it only tears down.
