It makes sense. I’ve been watching that with Capitalism through my lifetime, where it started losing its foundation as “Adam Smith” with foundations from Mercantilism’s role in codification that allows for a system like Capitalism to exist… and suddenly begins to mean ANY and EVERY form of trade in history, with Chinese traders on the Silk Road being referred to as capitalist now, backfiling and revising all of human history to try to justify a late 20th/early 21st century iteration of a 18/19th century enacted ideology. Same thing we’ve seen in the past with narratives marrying socialism with noble savage myths too.
