It is superior. It’s evolved-from and so reduces many redundancies and artifacts of Connecticut-English. Communication is also faster. Those who speak or write in AAVE or Ebonics or whatever you want to call it are almost always bilingual, speaking both AAVE and Connecticut-English as well, able to code-switch as needed, depending on whether they’re dealing with friends or working in Connecticut-English business environment.

 I never had a problem with it. I was exposed to it growing up and was familiar. White suburban kids often are two years behind in the language then as now, but I always tried to be up to date as linguistics was always a fascination of mine.

  It’s fun nowadays to watch white suburban/country kid created memes ATTEMPT to do black vernacular english. You can always tell by how far behind they are.I’m not up to 2020 mind you – but I can spot a 2017 AAVE or a 2013 vine AAVE-ism.

I never spoke it but I had friends who did. Lived next door to black neighborhoods and hung out a lot. I didn’t pretend to be anything I wasn’t.

 I think what bothered me is that he’s not careful. He’s “first out the gate” without checking. Oddly enough, Joe Rogan gives me the same vibe in the sloppiness department, even though Rogan is probably best characterised as “Radical Centrist” if that’s a thing. Just, sloppy. Tomi lahren has the same vibe for me on the right.
