It hasn’t lost it’s meaning. Lots of people claim it’s lost it’s meaning but that means they never understood it in the first place.

First: recognize it. Lots of people are incapable of doing this part. They don’t know what racism is. They say it can “mean anything”. They bring up examples of things that aren’t racism and say “Is this racist? It must be racist and it’s ridiculous to call that racist so therefore any claim of racism is ridiculous because it’s meaningless.”

But they simply don’t know what racism is. They can’t recognize is. They don’t see it.

So, first thing is to recognize racism.

If one can’t do that, they can offer no further assistance and can be ignored.

But if you CAN recognize racism:
a) let it slide
b) say something to get them to see it
c) avoid them in the future.

I’ve done a b and c at different times with different people, plus other things.

But mostly what I’ve done is learn to recognize racism.
