internet, social networking with public:
You can
A) surround yourself with an echo chamber and/or fans, in which case you get agreement or enthusiastic agreement – and there’s nothing really wrong with that. It’s your space to make as safe or unsafe as you wish.
B) You can allow, welcome or actively encourage debate but that can get annoying quickly and really messy, particularly if you have an important point that gets drowned in the noise. Plus, friends always start infighting, blocking each other, taking it out on you, etc.
C) Then, there’s probably something inbetween “allow debate” and safe-space / “fans” – a sweet spot.
That’s ideal.
Getting there can be tricky.
