Trouble is: they need donors. Any of ‘em. Intentional communities, whether religious or secular, always need alms of some kind. Or a good business model like the American Amish + Mennonites. Something. But project a good image to the outer world and people will contribute, whether it’s praying for them or “making the world a greener place” – whatever the ideology. So I’m cool with it.
Good thing is: there’s always more greedy people out there with guilty consciences who will fork over a few $$$ to know that somebody ELSE is doing the hard stuff for them. So, it works out for everybody.
