it’s amazing what ppl have done. Now imagine if this was marketed as a tool for construction or architects and was sold for thousands of dollars (without the game elements and such)? But that’s the marvel of it; for quick prototyping of a concept, it’s perfect – and it has the flexibility to get things absolutely perfect as well.
Instead of drawing and rendering and complicated annoying meshes and things, you can just go in and get started. Not so much for what it is now, but for what it can become in years from now. I’ve told ppl many times, “It’s Minecraft 30 I want to see” [or whatever similar thing will be around then].
People get stuck on the ‘look and feel’ but dont’ realize the raw power behind it.
I feel bad though – http://www.planetminecraft.com/server/kens-142-creative-server/ my server has been down since September 2014, after 23 months straight. Got 56 diamonds… had 27000 unique players visiting total with many dedicated players.. who still ask when I’m putting it back up again.
I always promised them I’d never shut it down but I did. I’ll keep my promise one day, find them and at least send them their creations somehow. Maybe not all 27,000 [because some just came in, went UGH I HATE CREATIVE and left), but there’s at least a few thousand that were dedicated, on and off through the time.
