indeed. it hurts reading this story though. I have no doubt that had the fullest of hope. Perhaps God will provide, perhaps Nature; fearful of ‘the world’, the momma’s boy who had full faith in his mother (I don’t know if it’s that story or another that mentioned that about him), the sister who thought she could help keep things stable; and I’m sure did help;
… I mean I’ve certainly done my share of things where “everything was just gonna work out just fine”, full of confidence in the universe or my capabilities, not even noticing the other people that saw my failings and gave support so I could continue…
but there they were, striking out in the Frontier; perhaps but a mile or two away from their favorite park but nevertheless, they disappeared. They got what they asked for but not what they wanted.
