They’re learning it on their own anyway (In GenZ, girl hackers/programmers are as common as boy hackers/programmers) so at least they’re getting a badge for it and maybe some career-worthy training. I’ve been watching more and more people increasing their skills through the decades. Will there be more programmers than jobs? Nah. I see it more as increasing the general intelligence level. There’s a great satisfaction in being able to whip something together on your computer that isn’t already online somewhere that does what you want it to do.
Less passive users and game players and more active creators. I’m all for it.
