Implying non feminist men are superior in some way? “At least we’re honest in our non-feminist assholeness” L@@k – THIS male asshole is honest, unlike this male FEMINIST asshole. Trash is trash.

“At least we’re honest in our non-feminist assholeness”

L@@k – THIS male asshole is honest, unlike this male FEMINIST asshole.

Trash is trash.

I haven’t met too many men who refer to themselves as feminist though.
They’re practically mythological to me – some kind of horrible stain out there that is invisible to me.
But do they exist? Some say they do.

===

I don’t know if I’m a feminist or not. I mean some things of interest to me intersect with with stuff that falls under feminist theory or some kind of human rights thing. So it’s possible I could fit there.

I’ve been called it on occasion. I just say, “Ok, probably.”

===

Yeah, that’s why I don’t argue if someone considers me a feminist because of the egalitarian thing. I don’t broadcast it because it’s ust how I believe and proof should show through actions, not through wearing t-shirts.

I call myself agnostic just to shut both sides up (Christian and atheist). I’m probably some kind of Christian – more like generic humanist type – but whatever it is I am, thumping my chest over a category to put myself vs another category is just silly to me. Sports. It’s just sports and I don’t play. I just want to work towards a better world in ways, Mr Rogers-ish I guess.

As far as the hypocrites go? Well, I can only hope they self-crit now and again. It’s good for anybody.

===

That’s it in a nutshell. I’m grateful to come across like-minded and thank you. Little side convos like this keeps my faith in humanity alive and well.

===

If it was a man who said, “I am a feminist” and proceeds to be slimy about women I’d notice. I’ve just been lucky.

So I guess the OP hill is similar to the old Bruce Ritter thing. When Mr. “Hey I’m Super Amazing!” ends up being “[but I’m really just using this as an excuse for my scumminess]”.

Old case but a strong one.

I get big friend lists on various social networks, so it’s a sort of predatory thing. It does improve sense of worth. I don’t use it for evil thankfully, although I always could.

————————

Oh, you’re right. So “male feminists-in-name-only” would be more accurate Well said.

===

“Take out your own trash” is a similar concept I’ve heard and I think it’s true. Applies to this, bad cops, pseudo religious etc. Those doing right have the additional burden of cleaning house, which risks ostracizing (“loyalty”). But it’s good to at least try.

===

But feminism is basically egalitarianism. Would you say the same of egalitarians?

===

I’m 45 and I don’t think I’ve gotten more closed minded. Is it possible that you always sorta felt this way, Aaron?

===

Yeah I think we’re all in agreement about sharing values, whatever they are with your partner. Of course, some couples thrive on conflict, but that’s their shared thing.

===

Some systems seem inherently toxic though which can be good to watchdog about. Example are ones that stress strict unwavering hierarchy with clearly abusive (human rights violating) components. There’s a number of those around that really need to be gone.

I just can’t figure out WHAT that screaming animal is being hosed with respect. It’s got pig skin color, but looks like a wolf with a bit of a cow body.

a) says “a female”
b) OP worries what friends will say.
Conclusion: OP’s mind:

I’m also implying there is a) no girl. b) No boys c) No CapriSuns.
