s Yes – it’s a form of immortality.
How I look at immortality:
Some concept that flowed *through* you – filtered through your unique way of seeing the world – and started processes within someone else’s cognitive processes.
My machines started up your machines.
[or the whole “in sync” thing… but I hate the cliche-ification of it – whatever tongue emoticon ]
Anyway, I die.
My name forgotten.
Yet those who live on whose very way of thinking was, at least once, inspired by me? I live on. They do things that inspire other people. They die. New people live on.
I’m the actualization of someone else’s dream long ago. Many people’s dreams.
And I hope my dreams do the same for others, continuing into the future through the course of humanity.
Romanticized? Sure. Fact? well, close enough for me. I think we’re just a slimemold covering the planet anyway, and I’m just a cell not so different from other cells, using words instead of chemical messengers. smile emoticon
