I’m super excited to find this as an active research area. I’ve worked on it myself (with myself) as I know you have with yourself — yet it would boggle me how little focus on this particular nugget of experience-as-it-is-happening there seems to be (outside of music, religion, etc)

I think it’s just a case where their internal communication isn’t primarily dialog but rather images or music or something else.

I did some thinking after reading Amy Gregory’s comments and I think I mislabeled my “pristine experience” as a monologue.

I don’t in fact have a monologue going all of the time. I did a few random stops and I found I was apprehending a piece of music or traveling through visuals in my brain without a monologue to go with it all of the time.
