Your momma, your near family, your caregivers. Media (books, tv, tablets-in-hand – I hope I don’t have “skibidi toilet” rizz). Compulsory education. Somewhere around the age of 7/8 your social world EXPLODES and you start the first “curve of forgetting” – amazing to witness, asking an 8 yr old now up to date with ROBLOX what he was thinking when he was 4 and he won’t remember. But ask that same kid at 6 year olds what he was thinking at 4 and he will remember. So that’s one bit of ‘crystalizing’ – the forgetting and consolidation. So you COULD argue that anything after 8 is suspect with regards to the primary level of culture. But still, that primary level is still very limited; you’re not as exposed to the adult world yet. That happens usually in adolescence and that’s when a lot of your early assumptions are absolutely DESTROYED — and replaced.
