i’m ok with that long ago during Tales from the Darkside, I thought, “Why don’t they match commercials with the shows so we don’t lose the mood?” Later, “Why don’t they just serve me ads that I’m interested in? How hard can it be to figure that out?” Well, now they’ve figured it out. I’m glad. Did I think they were going to STOP advertising to me? No. So at least make it worthy.

I enjoy it. Contextual ads are great.
My favorite on Facebook:
They’ll serve me an ad that’s tied into a post that’s TWO DOWN from the ads in the scroll.
So, I see the ad and the POST that comes a little further down seems to relate to the ad I just saw. It’s wonderful and fun and evil of them.
but i game the system too. Strategic ad clicking so I get one specific type of item so I can see what comes up. Took about three weeks until my computer and phone was littered with briefs.
So now I get ads for Parochial schools, summer camps, “is your child a bad teenager? Send them away to this brutal camp to fix them once and for all” and “adopt your own Ukrainian today!”
When I get bored of the theme, I’ll switch to another.
This particular batch started when Wish ads littered Facebook. So I wanted to track Wish, since it was going to be tracking me.
