I’m not worried about internet censorship in this case because the internet’s pretty flexible. Cloudflare does a lot of DDoS protection which sites like theirs likes to use. They have one of the best systems. But there’s others that provide similar protections they can use.
And if those close off? They can code their own. That’s the beautiful thing about the internet — there’s always SOME way to get around any blockage. It’s designed for free speech from the ground up, even if you have to use numbers instead of DNS – and even then, you can set up an alt DNS yourself.
It *could* be a problem if the trunk lines are monitoring all traffic though. This is why the USA lost the right to be in control of IP assignment. We were spying on the lines. A HUGE no no and we got caught.
