Visual is easier to manage and manipulate — and I suspect Musk’s insisting upon vision only is because the self-driving car is a tech tie-in to his neurolink which will probably be exclusively or primarily vision-based and not auditory or tactile or the other senses.
There will be more money to be made in Neurolink than cars anyway. Keep people home,, let the autotrucks deliver goods. Could have a worse future
