I’m all for clean-clothes programs. Above a certain income bracket, people say freely in ignorance, “You’re never too poor to be clean”.

An ad? Yeah. Likely minimal effort for maximal publicity? Probably. That said, I’m all for clean-clothes programs. Above a certain income bracket, people say freely in ignorance, “You’re never too poor to be clean”.

But you can be – quite easily. So, these are good programs. Locally, we have something called “Undie Sunday” where people donate clean underwear and socks to be passed out to kids who need them. That’s even a more severe case of poverty than dirty clothes but both are things that people above even on the “higher poverty” level are often shocked to learn.
