I’m a fan of Danko Nikolic’s Practopoeisis and related notions, particularly views on intelligence. I am also glad to see that there is a related notion, “Probabilistic epigenesis” by Gilbert Gottlieb in 1991. Danko Nikolic’s ideas, which I believe are correct, are more refined and gives weight to the fact that with even the smallest decisions we make, we are utilizing the full force of everything we have ever learned, genetically, neurally, behaviorally in tandem with the affordances of the environment, a factor that I think is less emphasized in probabilistic epigenesis, which seems more focused on randomness but intelligently includes the interplay of the various levels affecting behavior at any given moment. It’s definitely in the same family, I think, although I would say they are cousins.
